185 to 251, chasing a specific branch at BITS Goa

Hi everyone. My name is Shreeya Fogla, and I'm a mentor at Phodu Club, and I'm a student at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus. Today with us, we have Vihan, who has scored really well in BITSAT. So, Vihan, who's also one of our clubmates, would you like to introduce yourself?

Hi everyone. Um my name is Vihan. I'm from Nagpur, Maharashtra, and I have uh I've done my 11th and 12th from Nagpur itself. And um I've additionally uh also had a offline coaching. And then in 12th, like the uh the the latter part of 12th, I had enrolled in the Phodu Club for the test test series and the crash course. Um so yeah, that was that was about it.

And like what was your BITSAT score, JEE scores, and all?

Uh my Mains first attempt January score was um 89.4%. Then in the second attempt of JEE Mains in the second session, I got 85%. In the first session in the BITSAT first first session, I got um 185 marks, and then uh in the next session, I improved it to 251 marks.

That's a really good jump, to be honest. Like you you jumped like by more than 50 cuz like more than 50, 60 marks. That's really commendable. Okay, so uh since you had an offline coaching in Nagpur, how would your daily journey be? How was your entire journey from 11th and 12th? How was your experience? How was your schedule? Was it hectic or was it chill?

Um the experience, it was really hectic. It was um you know, a bit tiring because I was never really, you know, studious um student. I always studied for 2 hours, 3 hours, but for a stretch, studying for a stretch, it it always was hard for me. So, when I entered in into 11th standard, and you know, I realized how hard you have to you have to work to clear these exams. So it was really a different different you know, different thing for me. It was it was hard at the start. I we had coaching from 8:00 8:00 a.m. onwards till almost 2:00 p.m. And then additionally I sat in the library to do my homework and all that stuff. So I used to sit in the library also till 6:30 57. So almost the entire day was you know, I I was studying basically for 10 hours a day. And I think that was not enough after what I scored in JEE. But I because I was never really studious student, I was really chill about studies. I was I wasn't really very uptight about what my scores are in mock tests and you know, my JEE my chapter-wise test. So it was it was chill overall, but it was really a hectic and tiring journey. The the two-year part was it really got to me in the end. During the before the second session of BITSAT, I was really tired. I did not want to study anymore. But I had to push myself because I knew if I wanted to get into BITS Goa which was my ultimate goal from the start itself. I wanted to go get into BITS Goa mechanical engineering. So I had to to push myself through I had to tell myself that you know, you have to do you have to work hard for for the next month also to improve your score and eventually get the desired branch in campus.

The last journey of yours is very inspiring. The way you motivated yourself to like improve your score and you actually did improve it very drastically like going from 185 to 251 is a great jump. A lot of people are not able to do that in this on second attempt. Okay, so coming to BITSAT, uh after JEE Mains, like why did you decide to choose BITSAT? And how did you find out about Phodu Club Shubh?

Actually, um my aim was never JEE Mains or Advanced. My I did not wanted to go into NITs, IITs, which may seem a bit, you know, uh a bit different from the usual uh JEE, as they call the rat race. But, um I always wanted to go into BITS because I know that uh uh the the vibe, the you know, everything about BITS is a is slightly different from what you get the environment is slightly different from uh NITs and IITs and stuff. About Phodu Club, I always knew about Phodu Club since 11th because I was following Dhruva Bhaiya's uh and Kushal Bhaiya's YouTube channel. So, I knew that they were building Phodu Club. And I always knew that they were launching test series and crash courses. I also actually had DM'd Dhruva Bhaiya in 11th to launch a early um kind of batch for people who are serious only about BITS. He unfortunately, did not reply to my DM, but it's okay. I joined it as soon as possible. And it it did really help me.

Okay, so um since you've taken the test series and everything, what has been your most favorite part about the test series overall? It could be anything. Analysis, subject details, crash course, anything. What was the most favorite part from the entire package that you took?

Phodu Club BITSAT test series really uh helped me adapt to English LR as well uh along with PCM. And also the crash course for English and LR did help me uh understand the type of questions that I'm going to get in my BITSAT exam. And those similar the only came uh in the actual exam. So, it was a really similar experience and even the mock test, the PCM part as well, it was really similar and the weightage that they used to give us in the mock test, it was it was kind of the same and the deleted topics, people were complaining that they give too much questions from deleted portions and from portions that people do not study during JEE Mains, but but those are the that actually appear in your BITSAT exam. So, that that really helped me.

We're very glad to hear that you found it relevant and simple, like same as compared to our test series. Like the real exam was really relevant to our test series. We're really happy to hear that. Also, my last question to you would be, would you recommend Phodu Club to your juniors?

Yeah, I would absolutely recommend it to all my juniors because most of the people nowadays, they prepare for JEE Mains. They do not People are really shifting to BITS considering it as a main option, like me, but a lot of people, a big chunk of people do not have BITS into consideration until Mains first attempt. So, for them, shifting to BITSAT can be slightly difficult and for that, Phodu Club would will help you and would come into use a lot, especially especially the English and a lot part because that's the that's the game changer in BITSAT exam because that's for 90 marks and that 90 marks, if you even secure 75 marks, 70 marks, then that's a that's a big chunk. So, I would really recommend it to all my juniors and it it did really help me a lot.
