245 in BITSAT on a single attempt, held together by discipline

BITSAT 245
JEE Main 98.2 %ile session 2 (session 1: 96.9)
You just focus on that and like it helps you to focus on a specific subject like LR or mathematics.
Shubh, verbatim from the interview above

01 · The journey A start date he still remembers

Shubh remembers the day his preparation began — the 8th of April — and says he started full of motivation. He stayed a regular school student through class 11, managing school alongside coaching, and admits he did not practise a great deal that year. In class 12 he moved to dummy schooling and began working through both years' material together.

02 · The turning point Pre-boards in the last month

With about a month left before JEE, his school required pre-boards, and between those and the practicals he lost roughly fifteen days. He says that is what ruined his first attempt, which came in at 96.9%. He had assumed he would clear the first attempt and be done; instead he prepared for boards and a second attempt, finishing on 98.2 percentile.

03 · What worked An AI summary acting as a mentor

He searched YouTube for the best BITSAT test series and found a comparison by someone who had bought every series on the market, which put this one first. He sat only the second attempt, with about sixty days of mocks behind him, and found the LR questions in the real paper followed the same pattern. What he singles out is the AI summary in the analysis section, which arrives a minute or two after a test and tells him directly which subject to focus on — he agreed with the interviewer's description of it as a personal mentor.

Hi everyone, this is Shrishti. Welcome back to this interview and I'm a student from BITS Pilani Pilani campus and today I welcome Shubh who is a club mate at Phodu Club and who has prepared with us. He joined Phodu Club and finally he has qualified BITSAT with a really good score. So welcome Shub to the interview and tell us about yourself. Where are you from and what's your score?

Hello everyone. My name is Shubh and my BITSAT score is 245. My JEE Mains percentile is 98.2% and I'm from Sagar Public School.

Great. So Shub, let's get get back a little bit in time and tell me how was your journey right from the beginning in class 11th till you completing all your exams, getting to see your scores, percentile. How was the journey? How was the experience? Tell it.

Like when the journey was started, I still remember the date, 8th of April and when it was started like full of motivation and like JEE board exam. Then it goes on and backlog like I don't have any backlog during the preparation but I was a regular student in 11th class so that time I used to manage school and my coaching. So yeah, it was tough but I didn't practice a lot in my 11th grade. Then in 12th I took dummy schooling and then I started practicing my 12th and 11th like both and at the last when like one month was left for JEE, that time like in like school they were asking to uh give the pre-board. So that time like the major 15 days were for boards type of thing and then practicals, so that ruined my first attempt. Like, I got 96.9% 9% at that time. So, and then like I was in a ideal situation that I will crack first attempt then I'll go for it once, but it didn't happen. Then I start preparing for boards and second attempt. So, like in the second attempt also not very well, like 98.2 % percentile. Then I came to the exam.

So, you kept going, you know? You kept appearing for exams. What I have generally observed in some students that after session one, they really get, you know, demotivated, and they do not feel like studying. So, I would actually want to know what did you do? Like, were you also demotivated seeing a lesser percentile than what you expected? Obviously, 96 is not bad at all, but yeah, it might be lower than your expectation. So, what were your thoughts at that time, and how did you go about attempting all other exams with back with, you know, full of energy and motivation?

Yeah, like I was also demotivated. Like, there was like no motivation left, but there was discipline that I have to study daily because boards are also coming and second attempt is also coming. So, I just have to say like there is no other reason. Like, yeah, I got into daydreams and fully like um But, yeah, discipline and consistency make me like keep on going.

Okay. Tell me one thing, why did you join Phodu Club? What was something that you said that you saw in Phodu Club, and you know, it made you decide that, "Okay, I have to be a Phodu Club mate."

Like, for the BITSAT test series, I searched on YouTube like which is the best test series available. So, there was a guy who purchased all the test series of BITSAT available in the market. So, he compared all those test series and in that the most relevant was Phodu Club's test series. So, that made me like and then I also watched many videos about like Phodu Club's channel and then I decided to purchase this.

Great. So, actually, you know, it was really highlighted in your mind that Phodu Club's mocks are really relevant. So, just adding on to that, when you actually attempted the mocks of Phodu Club, did you find them relevant?

Yes, like when I was giving the main paper, that time I found it relevant.

Yeah, actually like in the actual exam, you found it very relevant, right?

Yeah. Like I've given the second attempt only, not the first attempt. So, I directly appeared there like 60 days of mock, then when I was giving the paper, I started it and at the middle like LR questions are literally the same pattern and like majority was same.

So, one final question to you is, if someone is sitting at the fence, is in a dilemma whether to choose Phodu Club for their BITSAT preparation or not. What would be your honest advice or recommendation to them?

If not choosing Phodu Club, then what like what any other test series is not available on the market. I can't do this. Content, but like in a test series, there was a section in the analysis AI summary. And like it comes after 1 to 2 minutes and it directly tells me like your LR is not good. You just focus on that and like it helps you to focus on a specific subject like LR or mathematics. So, that is something which I love and also the LR and English sessions, they were also very helpful and assignments which are provided by the Phodu Club, that also I found very relevant. So, considering these points, based on my personal experience, I would like strongly suggest to join Phodu Club person.

Great. And so, that AI analysis actually act as a personal mentor to you, right?

Yeah.

Yeah. Great to hear that actually. And so, that was all it for the interaction. Thank you so much for participating in this interaction.
