AIR 123 and a CND seat after interview prep

So hello guys I am Neil from IIIT Hyderabad and here we have one of our club mates his name is Shrean Gupta and he scored an all India rank of 123 in UGEE through Phodu Club. So firstly congratulations Shre. Now can you please introduce yourself to the audience?

Yeah my name is Shreyan. I am from Mumbai in Maharashtra and uh I had given UGEE this year and also cleared the interview. So I'll be joining IIIT Hyderabad uh in the CND computation and natural sciences branch this year and uh my hobbies are mostly playing football and just solving maths and physics problems.

Uh this year I gave a lot of other exams as well like JEE Mains JEE Advanced bits etc. In J means I got a rank of 14,000 and in advance I got a rank of 20,000 and in bits I think I had a 270 score of 270. Okay.

So Sh can can you just tell me about your 11th and 12th like as a journey like if they so like wherever you you had any highs and lows just just free to share it with the audience. Yeah the beginning of 11th grade I think everybody was chill I was also chill as well. uh the J test I had enrolled in my uh local coaching center in my city and we just give tests every other every few weeks and it was like really easy not a lot of stress but uh when I got into the later stages of 11th grade with JEE I think that's where the real grind start grind was necessary to keep up with the syllabus and that's what I did and I think one of the most biggest draws for me in 11th and 12th grade was actually the school thing because it was not actually a dummy school I was used to go on Saturdays to do the practical and also learn English.

But I used to I guess like very low scores in my unit exams in school. So that was a bad point but I still focus on my J studies only just gave a few days before the term exams in the school to prepare and in uh 12th grade I think I was serious since the beginning. I think in 11th as well but I was probably a bit more playful playing games uh the entire day but studying as well.

In 12th I think I had dropped that just studying I think for 9 to 10 hours a day and uh also managing the school exams and bits were not really very tough actually because I think my English was already pretty strong and physics chemistry and maths we were already learning from school. Then in the later stages during I think December when we uh like testing for Jman actually started uh I did that and after JEE Mains I started doing my advanced prep but actually my JEE Mains uh result for first year I was extremely poor so I had to give a give time after that for J to JEE Mains attempt two as well then after JEE Mains 2 I gave my UGEE exam I actually didn't study anything for it because I was fully focused on advance at that point of time but then after the advanc last exam uh I think didn't go really well. So I thought I'll just like prepare for the interview really well.

Okay. So can you tell me uh how did you get to know about Phodu Club and what made you join Phodu Club? Actually I was looking uh to prepare for my bedside second attempt.

So I just asked one of my best friends. It was in the same coaching as me. They just said you should join Phodu Club.

I did that exactly. And in that group I also found out you guys have a UGEE interview prep uh group as well. So I joined that and that's where I met Neil and use those materials I used for my UW trip.

Okay. S can you tell me what did you like about Phodu Club? I think Phodu Club was it was really easy to approach my mentors also the material was I think pretty good and especially in the betsa test series that I had taken.

Uh the question papers were actually pretty nice. uh there were lot lot of variety for the beta second exam right because it was extremely unpredictable people and we just had mock test from like all levels easy difficult medium fast etc and secondly I think the community also played a very good role because we there around I think uh in UGEE I think like 30 40 other uh uh UGEE aspirants so just talking with everybody also helped me calm down and just uh not get uh overloaded on my studies. Yeah.

Okay. So like let's say someone is at the verge of joining Phodu Club or he's unsure about joining Phodu Club. So what would you like to tell them?

It's you should join but I would say it's your decision as well. You have to see because if you want to study if you want to give get a good score I think it's necessary to get some sort of mentorship and testing. I think Phodu Club is one of the best platforms in India which does that.

So I think it's a no-brainer to join. Thank you so much. So like is there any tips that you would want to share with the audience?

Tips I think just uh focus on your studies take some time out from that to play football or video games whatever you like [snorts] just don't don't take that part out because then if you take that out you get burnt out you just stop there but like uh fun is important along with J studies as well and if you just maintain that there's nobody stopping you getting a really good result and also having fun at the same time.
