99.3 in MHT-CET on a second attempt, after a drop year

MHT-CET 99.3 %ile 2nd attempt

Raza, verbatim from the interview above

01 · The journey A drop year, and coaching that kept changing

Raza describes himself as a dropper. He was at a coaching centre close to home where, by his account, the teachers kept changing and there was too much drama; after the first year he found it simply disturbing. He did not clear JEE Advanced, his father suggested he repeat, and he agreed — then the same churn of teachers happened at the second institution too. He is careful to add that he does not put it all on them: it was his fault as well that he did not score well.

02 · The turning point Found through a BITSAT search

He first came across the platform the previous year while thinking about sitting BITSAT. His point is about how visible it was: search BITSAT, he says, and you will see it almost everywhere, recommended whether promoted or not. His second CET attempt returned 99.3 percentile.

03 · What worked Mocks pitched above the real paper

He rates the lectures as good and the previous-year questions as really helpful — he revised all of them again right before the exams. On the test series his verdict is specific: the papers sat on the harder side, which he counts as a good thing because it prepares you for whatever turns up. In the event, he says, the real paper came out much easier than the test series.

Harder mock papers

Pitched above the real exam, which he says is exactly what made them useful.

Prep tracker

After a hand-made poster version failed, the in-app tracker kept him on what to do next.

I'm Raza. I'm a dropper Jee Uh Well, my advance didn't really go well. It's not really good actually. Jee mains this year I got 99.7 95.7 something and my CET second attempt was 99.3. Which set is 215 which is also not really good, but I'll see what I'm getting out of

Okay. Cool. So, tell me how was your 11th and 12th like what were your up and downs and what challenges you faced in drop year two?

Um I was in coaching as uh most of the people which was was close to my home. It was okay, but uh the teachers like kept changing and changing and changing and there was too many drama in there. So, you know, after first year it was just disturbing cuz you know, just the main teacher was there and the other teacher was just flipping flipping flipping flipping and all. Uh then the Jee happened and the advance also happened. I didn't clear advance at that time. So, my dad told me to repeat. I thought about it and I said, "Okay, I'll repeat." Then I took admission to another uh what do you say, institution? And then same thing happened there also. Teachers started changing. But I can't just blame them also. It was my fault too that I didn't score well. That's what happened to me and all.

In middle of all these things going, how did you get to know about Phodu Club and what convinced you to join Phodu Club?

I got to know about Phodu Club last year also when I was thinking about giving BITSAT. Uh If you search BITSAT quite frankly, you will you will see Phodu Club uh almost everywhere. People recommend it either if it's promoted or not promoted cuz it's uh really good platform to be in.

So, once you were in when you purchase a course, how did you how relevant did you find the crash course, MST CET test series and mentorship?

Everything was good. The lectures were good. The PSS were really helpful at the time. And the last time for all I revised all the PSS at last time of the exams. The test were on the higher side which is actually good cuz it prepares you for what comes next. We didn't know what but it came out as much easier than the test series.

So, beside of the main course, how did you find the prep preparation tracker and college predictor and revision notes and all?

Yeah, I used all of it. Uh the I love website care I used to I have a chapter like that and then you take the all of it. So, I made a poster of it and I did it but didn't work really well. Then I used the one in math tab I used it and it worked quite good. It keep track. It prepares me for what to do next. It was good.

So, [snorts] one last last thing if someone is willing to join Phodu Club and he's still confused regarding whether to join or not, what did you say to him?

I mean it's really good platform if you want to study. You can you will be able to get everything everything covered the LR, the English and all. You can do other things also. Like from YouTube if you really want but it's sufficient for to get in. I have not get in but I'm telling you it's sufficient but love

[snorts]

It's a good platform. You should do it. It's not really costly also for the what the amount of uh quantity is given. It's affordable. So, that's it.
