281 in BITSAT after shifting focus post JEE Main

BITSAT 281 2nd attempt
JEE Main 99.84 %ile session 2 (session 1: 99.3)
JEE Advanced ~11,000 rank
Yeah, I think it was relevant definitely and I think it's the best option out here.
Dhruv, verbatim from the interview above

01 · The journey Two years aimed at JEE, then BITS

Dhruv spent classes 11 and 12 enrolled in coaching with his focus strictly on JEE, not BITSAT. Only after JEE Main session one did he register for BITS and start preparing for it in earnest. He credits the two-year stretch with building exam temperament through mocks, and with teaching him to manage pressure and time.

02 · The turning point Low mocks, and a reason to stay

He describes stretches where low mock scores left him discouraged enough that he did not feel like sitting JEE at all. What kept him going was reminding himself that consistency across classes and mocks would eventually pay off, and cutting down screen time so the work stayed the priority.

03 · What worked Chapter-wise tests and a familiar interface

A friend pointed him to the platform. What he singles out is the chapter-wise tests — especially inorganic chemistry — and mocks whose difficulty felt balanced rather than uniformly hard or easy. He also found the exam interface close enough to the real BITSAT that sitting the paper felt familiar.

Chapter-wise tests

Especially useful in inorganic chemistry, where questions tracked the areas he had practised.

Exam interface

Close enough to the real BITSAT that the paper itself felt familiar.

Hi everyone, my name is Shreeya Fogla and I'm a student at BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus. Today with us we have one of our club mates Dhruv. Dhruv would you like to introduce yourself to our audience?

Hi I'm Dhruv and I'm from Haryana. I gave J along with bits this year itself. So my sport in bits is 281 in the second attempt and I gave both JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

In JEE Mains session one I got 99.3 percentile and in session two it was 99.84. So my JEE Mains rank was around 2500 and after that I gave JEE Advanced where I got the rank of 11,000. Wow, those scores are really commendable.

Like the jump you had in J means one to J means two also that was amazing. Okay, so since the starting of 11th did you like specifically prepare for JG advanced or did you do bits side by side and how was your journey of both years? So from 11th I I was enrolled in GMC.

I was strictly studying for JL and throughout the two years I only focused on my J prep and not bits. It was only after I gave my JEE Mains session one I started focusing more on bits after registering for it. So I would say the 2-year journey was uh really helpful towards building my personality.

and I got to learn a lot of new things and I had a lot of team experiences. I gave a lot of mocks during my two-year prep which helped me deal with exam pressure and time management which also helped in bits later on. So there were a few low points during my prep.

I would get discouraged by my low mock test scores but then I would put all effort towards improving it and performing well in the next one. So my major focus was solely to develop my concepts and understand things better. I would focus in class, take uh take proper notes and if I missed any day, I would ask my peers for notes and while preparing for J, I found short notes really helpful.

It helped me revise concepts in a quick and efficient manner. So during the entire journey, there were a few points where I felt like quitting because I couldn't picture myself moving forward. I was so discouraged by my marks and mocks that I didn't even feel like giving J.

But at that time I reminded myself that this 2-year journey would eventually pay off if I kept being consistent with my hard work and kept appearing for all the classes and the mock tests. Also during this journey I tried to limit my screen time and focus more on studies instead of spending time elsewhere. That's a valid fact.

like everybody has to reduce their screen time but now it's very difficult to cope with everything that's I liked how you really like had a reason to move forward and really motivated yourself even like through your low mock test scores the the entire journey of two years is pretty good so my third question to you would be key how did you find out about Phodu Club and why did you trust us with your preparation so actually I learned about it from a friend and after researching I found out that it was the best option available for preparing for bets like the mock tests were well balanced and quite relevant for so you took a direct recommendation from one of your friends that's nice so like out of use after using the test series and crash course like either of them what was your most favorite feature of the entire test series like it can be anything analysis or anything whatever you liked I The chapter wise tests were quite relevant especially for chemistry like the inorganic section I found the test quite helpful because questions were coming directly from those areas and uh about the test I feel the difficulty was balanced like some of some of the questions were tough but some were easy so overall I think I it was quite balanced and uh some mock tests were hard So it actually gave me a it actually prepared me for the world. So I could expect what the actual beds exam would be like and talking about the exam interface I think it was quite similar to the actual beds exam. So I was already used to giving the exam that's why I felt helpful.

Yeah. So like would you recommend Phodu Club to your juniors and while giving the bits paper did you find it relevant to the paper that you are getting in the actual exam? Yeah, I think it was relevant definitely and I think it's the best option out here.

So you should definitely go for Phodu Club. Okay D thank you so much for your time. It was really nice to hear about your journey and your journey with Phodu Club too.

All the best for your future.
