242 to 316 between two BITSAT attempts

BITSAT 316 2nd attempt (1st: 242)
JEE Main 98.1 %ile
JEE Advanced 10,500 rank
The analysis was great.
Ansh, verbatim from the interview above

01 · The journey A strong start, then a sharp drop

Ansh joined coaching in class 11 comfortable with the material and answering well, with his hopes high. His first major coaching test went well and the second dropped to what he calls a staggering low. He credits the friends he made around that time — who were also doing well — with getting him back to studying something every day.

02 · The turning point Results below expectation, twice

He was expecting 99 and above in JEE Main and got 98.1, then 96.3 in the second attempt. His first BITSAT attempt gave him 242 when he had been hoping for above 300. He describes the whole run as a roller coaster.

03 · What worked Format practice and the analysis

He came across the platform through ads after his first attempt, saw students posting their scores, and found Reddit threads saying it was fairly relevant. What he says clicked was the question format — something he specifically needed practice on — and above all the analysis, which he names as the key factor and describes as great format and great insights.

Question format

Format practice was the specific gap he came in needing to close.

Analysis

He names the post-test analysis as the single key factor for him.

So hello everyone uh I am Taj a student at BITS Pilani Pilani campus and today we have one of our club mates who studied from Phodu Club and crack bits. So hi uh what's your name where are you from and what are the scores you pulled?

Uh my name is Ansh I'm from Mumbai and I got uh 316 in bits second attempt. I got 242 in my first and 98.1 percentile in my JEE Mains and 10 10.5K rank in JEE Advanced.

Okay, cool. Let's get back a little bit and let us know that how was your whole preparation phase of class 11th and 12th like what was your experience? Uh can you tell us?

Yeah, so I joined in 11th. Um I was pretty comfortable with all what they were teaching and uh I was actually answering pretty well too. So I had my hopes really high. Um but like as I went on there were major tests in our coaching. So first major test fantastic second major test it dropped to a staggering low. uh super demotivating but um by that by that time I made some really good friends and um they were also doing pretty well. So yeah, they really motivated me to um just study every day something every day and uh yeah, 11th went by and then I was told 12th was going to be much much harder. So I was really uh prepared for that. But it was mostly like 11th uh just studying every day is just uh a blur. everything is just uh one thing. So and then 12th uh after 12th we prepared for the exams mock tests and stuff uh crash courses and the mock tests and then yeah mock tests were pretty mid and then uh first JEE Mains came and I was honestly expecting a 99 and above but uh yeah 98.1 uh then Second attempt 96.3 something weird happened there and then there was bits attempt one uh that time I got 242 and then uh yeah pretty shocked was hoping for above 300 only but then uh yeah I thought at that time I saw an ad of Phodu Club and I thought I got to join something this seems good got to join this uh and then then There was um yeah after the JEE Mains two result came I really locked in for uh advanced and stuff u gave that it went not so well and then bits 2 which went extremely well um yeah so that was my entire uh journey

yeah it's like full of roller coasters totally

yeah after the first attempt you heard about Phodu Club and then you joined Phodu Club and it basically helped you to score like 300 plus

but like my question is what made you go for it as in you know uh you you what what told you oh I'm actually doing this I'm going for a Phodu Club like what made you sign up for it what was that factor that made you join Phodu Club

I saw the I saw a few ads and I saw like people mentioning their scores and stuff uh so it seemed u good saw Reddit too where they said like it was fairly relevant also. Um so yeah that that pushed me towards that only.

Okay cool. And now you're one of them like the test.

So like once you got started with it what was the thing that actually clicked for you at Phodu Club? Like what did club do that other things didn't? It was the question format, the everything format was um I needed practice for that and u it did pretty well. The analysis was great. Uh yeah, that that was the thing that like the analysis like I think that helped the most. Um great format, great uh insights and stuff. Yeah, that was the

Okay.

key factor. Okay, good.
