      BITSAT exam dates for 2024

      BITSAT 2024 offers flexibility with two sessions for candidates to choose from. Session 1 spans from May 19th to May 24th, 2024, while Session 2 runs from June 22nd to June 26th, 2024. Candidates have the liberty to select a date and slot within the designated session window, ensuring it aligns with their study plan and allows ample time for rest before the test.

      Duration of BITSAT exam

      The BITSAT exam has a fixed duration of 3 hours. This encompasses a 15-minute duration dedicated to reading instructions and acquainting yourself with the test interface. Effective time management is pivotal to confidently answer all questions within the allocated time frame. Candidates are advised to plan their approach wisely, ensuring they make the most of the stipulated duration to maximise their performance.

      Number of test sessions allowed in BITSAT

      In BITSAT 2024, candidates are granted the opportunity to appear for the exam a maximum of two times. This provides flexibility in choosing between taking both attempts in the same session or opting for one attempt in each session. Importantly, the better score from the two attempts will be considered for admission. This flexibility empowers students to strategically plan their attempts, aiming to showcase their best performance for a successful admission to BITS institutions.

      Educational qualification to appear for BITSAT

      • Passed 10+2 exam: You must have passed the 10+2 exam from a recognized board like CBSE, ISC, or state boards.
      • Subject combination: For most programs, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are mandatory subjects. For Pharmacy, you can choose either PCM or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
      • Minimum marks: You need a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and your chosen subject (Mathematics or Biology) in your 12th exam.
      • Individual subject marks: Each of these subjects must also have a minimum of 60% marks individually.
      • Appearing for 12th exam: If you are appearing for the 12th exam in 2024, you are eligible to apply.
      • Previous attempts: You can take BITSAT twice, but only in alternate years. If you took it in 2023, you cannot apply in 2024.

      Nationality requirements to give BITSAT exam

      • Indian citizen: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for BITSAT.
      • PIO/OCI cardholders: Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) cardholders can apply under the foreign quota seats with specific conditions.
      • Those candidates who have citizenship other than India can apply under “International Students Admissions Scheme”.

      BITSAT Age limit

      • There is no upper age limit for applying to BITSAT. 
      • Candidates of all ages meeting the educational and nationality criteria can apply for the examination.

      BITSAT will be conducted in two sessions, the prescribed fee for BITSAT-2024 for a candidate who chooses to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. 5400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 4400 (for a female candidate).

      A candidate who originally opts to appear once (Session-1), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). 

      If such a candidate chooses then to apply to appear a second time (Session-2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 1500 (for a female candidate).
